Perfectly located for a trip to the O2 and surrounding area. Had everything we needed. Comfortable bed with choice of pillow, good selection at breakfast. Helpful, welcoming staff.

Allocated a side room on the 5th floor, very spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom was a little tired but functional.
There was a large desk situated in front of the mirror in the room which made it impossible to use the mirror for make up and hair as to stand behind it you were too far back this was disappointing.

Crown Plaza have always been good hotels and this one has an excellent location for excel but the rooms are noisy.
Unfortunately the hotel is on the landing and take off path 1 mile from London Airport. The fact the double glazing didn't seem to work, either to stop a breeze (I don't mind the cold), or any noise from outside meant very little sleep.
The receptionist noticed my state the following morning and I explained the issue with the double glazing. They told me they were sorry and would arrange a token gift of 5000 points and would also email through my invoice. I didn't receive either.
If you can sleep in noisy environments then go ahead otherwise you may want to look elsewhere. The bar was pretty good and so was the food. It has a swimming pool and gym but I was too tired the following morning so didn't get a chance to try.

This was my first time staying at the Crowne Plaza Docklands and at an IHG hotel. It definitely won’t be my last! The staff there were really nice, especially Elizabet! Really warm and friendly! I enjoyed myself so much. The only thing negative I have to say if that I couldn’t figure out the AC in my room, ha. Overall, an amazing stay!

I booked a room at the Intercontinental Hotel (IHG hotel) to attend a business event being held at the hotel.
Upon check in I was told that there was an issue with the room availability and an Uber was to be arranged to take me on a 20 minute drive to the Crowne Plaza London Docklands (IHG hotel).
*I had to consequently go back and forth between the two hotels on four 20 minute trips over the two days.
*The Crowne Plaza is classified under a lower IHG category to the Intercontinental however I was charged the Intercontinental Hotel rate (Intercontinental = IHG Luxury whilst Crown Plaza = IHG Premium).
*I was late to the first business event due to issues contacting the Intercontinental to arrange an Uber between hotels.
*If I had known IHG were to cancel my Intercontinental room I would definitely had booked a closer hotel.

Overall the experience was not great and from the reaction of the Intercontinental staff it felt like this was standard practice.
In future I would be cautious booking with IHG as I would not want to be inconvenienced like this again, especially if I was with my family.
Once a booking is confirmed IHG should not be treating customers in this way. If there are no rooms the booking should be declined at the outset so the traveller can arrange a more convenient hotel in advance of the stay.

To clarify, your reservation was originally made at the InterContinental Hotel, and due to an issue with room availability, you were relocated to the Crowne Plaza London Docklands. As your payment was processed directly through the InterContinental, we did not charge you for the booking.
We completely understand how frustrating this situation must have been, particularly with the added travel time and the disruptions to your schedule. However, as the booking and payment were managed by the InterContinental, we were not involved in the original reservation process.
